Since the beginning of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine in February 2022, more than one million Ukrainians have received protection in Germany. After two years, there are growing questions about integration on the labour market, in the education system and about further social participation. In addition to residence law and health or housing policy issues, JobTurbo is currently fighting for employment services with a view to qualification and working conditions. Furthermore, the degree of acceptance of the host society is in focus, especially acutely with regard to the situation of children in the school system.
Together with our guest Markus Lux, we will discuss in the context of the Labora Lecture how the integration and social participation of people from Ukraine can be improved. In his input, Marcus Lux addresses the following topics in particular:
- Special features of the group of Ukrainians: circular migration, traumatisation, fit Qualification/offer
- Social participation opportunities vs. fatigue effects on both sides
This is supplemented by short inputs from Minor's studies and consulting work and discussed among the invited experts.
