In structurally disadvantaged districts in Germany, there are an above-average number of people with their own or family history of migration. However, the migrant population is underrepresented in local networks and consultative bodies or other round tables. Migrantic self-organizations are rarely found and engagement within communities is often invisible because it is informal and not anchored in the tradition of volunteering.

Together with our guest Christian Lieberknecht, we will discuss why people with migration history are underrepresented in local networks and committees of the districts and how they can be better integrated.

This is supplemented by short inputs from Minor's studies and practical work and discussed among the invited experts.
